HOW IT WORKS

THE SET UP

Imagine that the game graphic below is a map of the area where your event will be held. Prior to the arrival of your guests we plot out a large circle, divided into 8 equal sections. Around the outside of these are the team challenges.

THE PLAYERS

As your group arrives each will receive a card that will indicate what team they are on. Each team has a different reason that they have found themselves stranded on the islands.

There are the Shipwrecked, the Pirates, the Scientists, the Escaped Prisoners, the Real Estate Developers, the Military, the Hollywood Film Crew and those that arrived by Plane Crash.

All teams have one thing in common they all need to survive and work toward rescue. To do this they must do there best to complete each of the challenges. Point amounts associated with the varied level of difficulty are awarded for each task completed.

EXAMPLES OF CHALLENGES

SHELTER - Build a free standing A-frame Shelter (make a hut using a tarp, 5 bamboo poles, string and 4 rocks).

GATHERING - Reach a coconut 10 feet off the ground. Points awarded for how many different team members can touch the coconut.

FISHING - Catch as many magnetic fish as you can using a long bamboo pole, string and paper clip (only some fish have magnets in their mouths).

HUNTING - Rolling a ball under a trap while a teammate pulls the string to trap it. Throwing a “rock” through a silhouette of a pig, rabbit.

FIRE - Start a fire (Tossing bean bags at 4 panels, in the proper order, that spell out “F-I-R-E”).

WATER - Fill up water bottles (a little at a time by using shot glasses attached above volunteers heads).

RESCUE - Drag colored magnetic stones onto a mini beach to spell out the word “HELP!”

TRADING POST - Opposing teams line up across from each other and ask preset survival questions and/or trivia about your company. Correct answers get a clue card reward.

THE FINALE

Teams have to choreograph and perform a one-minute rain dance. Points are awarded based on: number of team members participating, energy, elaborate moves, acrobatics, and exhibition of team themes.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Awards can be given for Most Points, Best Rain Dance and Figuring out the names of the Islands.

LAYOUT FOR EVENTS OF 75 PLAYERS OR MORE

In this case we plot out two large circles, each one divided into 8 equal sections. Around the outside of these are the team challenges. At the finale, mirror teams from Islands 1 and 2 join forces, share clues, add up points and create an epic rain dance.
